[edit] Resurgence, Resurrection, and Reincarnation

"Stay awhile, and listen..." - Deckard Cain

Resurrection, it's the only word that truly describes the sheer monstrosity that the Diablo Wiki has become in a period of only three months.

A few months back, when anything Diablo III was hush-hush, everyone, including the all-knowing founder, had given up on the stinking dead Corpse-puppet of a Wiki (as our resident b'crat, Atrumentis puts) known only as the Diablo wiki. Then, came the dawn after night, the ritual had begun, the ritual table, prepared and all that was needed was a catalyst... Diablo III was revealed to frenzied mob of fans at WWI08. The net gained traffic. New fansites were created. Everything was great... Everything, except the long forgotten wiki.

Seeing the revelation, Atrumentis knew that traffic in the wiki would pick up. He enlisted the aid of JoePlay and Richard1990, two of the many who we are grateful to for showing faith in a dying wiki. The edits were small, mostly typo corrections.

Then came a new face, the user that would inspire me to have faith in the wiki as well, Hans Kamp. Following him, yours truly, Mobokill, (who made a few anon edits in the past) joined in seeing that the wiki was at the brink of a resurgence. Then, he started it, Hans Kamp started contributing like a mad-man. Filling up pages, creating new pages and vandal-busting to the extreme. His work earned him the title of Admin in the wiki. A very noble soul. Seeing him do it, I started my own spree. Not much, but still filled up a few lore entries and the like. With him, was another Admin, Federeted AK-74u who had come with the purpose of providing some of his Admin experience to the wiki.

Then came the Redeemer, Danrr, the resident house-keeper in the wiki now, he had humble beginnings, but soon learnt the ropes like the back of his hand. Soon after his arrival, Hans Kamp went missing, he was nowhere to be found. But he was not missed much because Dan had a plan, to help the wiki become known. He contributed, he uploaded, he cleaned the little corpse-puppet up to show the world how beautiful she really was. And then... He became Admin. That's when things started to pick up. You see Dan had a vision shared by many of our contributors now, get the wiki up and running before D3's release. This vision soon materialized in the new skin that the wiki now has.

Then came CologneCerroneHoudini. His contributions are as big as his namesake, in fact, much much bigger. The Item pages were filled in with great speed, and for his efforts too, he was rewarded... the eighth Admin was born.

With the help of our esteemed Helpers, especially JoePlay, we created Link templates, Reward templates, a news section, some elementary forums and of course, made more pages. You name it, we got it (else we'll create it). The main page was overhauled, the wiki started looking professional and new contributors came and joined in the fun.

We now host a stupendous 3050+ articles at the time of writing this. A great job by our editors considering that the article count was 550 when I joined. Our D3 pages can be said to be the best in the net, filled to the brim with all the info that's known as well as some speculation to spice them up.

As I'm writing this, the Admins are busy at work at the wiki. I go now to help them... for it has been a long journey indeed.

HELP FULFILL THE PROPHECY, HELP THE DIABLO WIKI...
