Sega is a former super power in the video game world. It was a genuine competitor to Nintendo before the company's console business collapsed two years after the release of their Dreamcast console. They continue to develop games for other consoles.
Their mascot now is Sonic the Hedgehog, but it was once Alex Kidd.
Consoles released by Sega include:
- The Sega Master System
- The Sega Mega Drive (known as the Sega Genesis in North America)
- The Sega Saturn
- The Dreamcast
Sega also released several handhelds over the years, such as the Game Gear.
Sega of today is merged with Sammy in Sega Sammy Holdings.
